Le lavoir du Touve

C’est l’eau de la source du Touve qui approvisionnait les 3 fontaines-lavoirs du village. Devant l’insuffisance de l’eau pour la population, des travaux sont entrepris en 1936 -1937 avec installation de nouvelles conduites en plomb et construction d’un bassin de rétention sur le haut de la colline à proximité de la source qui faisait office de château d’eau. En 1946, l’adhésion au syndicat d’eau potable devint indispensable du fait de l’évolution de la société (sanitaires, WC, machines à laver .).

The wash house of the “Touve”

“The Touve” is the name of the spring which used to supply the three fountains and wash houses of the village. The name comes from the Celts. Here is the 4th and biggest wash house of the village supplied by the same spring. Facing the lack of water for the inhabitants in 1936 or 1937 a tank was built near the source of the spring, in the hill, and used as a water tower. From 1946 and due to modern utilities (such as washing machines, water closet, etc…) the need for water is increasing and the subscription to the “Syndicat d’eau potable” (Syndicate of drinkable water) became mandatory and much more efficient.
